Orange McLaren 600LT Wrecked After Hitting Tree In Brazilian Capital

An orange McLaren 600LT has been badly damaged after crashing in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia recently.

Details surrounding the incident are limited but a number of images and videos showing the aftermath of the incident have surfaced online. The damage sustained to the British supercar means it will probably be heading straight to a scrapyard.

Based on these videos, it appears that the driver of the powerful McLaren lost control of it while driving on wet roads. They then appeared to have driven over a high curb on the side of the road before skidding across the grass and slamming head-on into a tree.

The force of the impact has resulted in significant damage to the 600LT. We can see that the carbon fiber bumper and splitter have been completely destroyed and the bonnet has been badly bent. In addition, the windshield has shattered and it looks like the front crash structure has been largely destroyed by the impact. While not visible in social media posts, we suspect that the undercarriage of the car has also suffered some damage.

McLaren launched the 600LT as the ultimate, track-focused variant of the Sports Series models in mid-2018. It is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that was tuned to deliver 592 hp and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque. McLaren didn’t call it a day after increasing power from the engine and also stripped away 96 kg (212 lbs) when compared to a standard 570S, meaning the 600LT tips the scales at a mere 1,247 kg (2,749 lbs).
